Move-in for new students is an exciting time!

Moving into the Residence Halls is a fun and stressful experience for students and parents alike. The Residence Life team is prepared to create a positive move-in experience for everyone involved.

Details for First Year Move-in

First year students will be arriving to campus on August 22nd between the hours of 8:00am and 3:00pm. Students will receive an email from Housing Services in July with instructions for signing up for a move-in timeslot on their scheduled date of arrival. Please do not attempt to arrive to campus outside of your assigned arrival date and time, if we work together as a community we can ensure a smooth experience for everyone.

We strongly encourage that students limit the items they bring to campus to the essentials that can fit into a maximum of three 40-gallon totes, two large suitcases, television and backpack. We also strongly recommend that you label all your boxes and belongings with your last name, residence hall and room number prior to arrival. Finally, if you own a hand truck or cart, we suggest you bring it with you to assist in your move-in.

When you arrive to campus student leaders in PURPLE will direct your vehicle to the correct check in location. At your check in location, staff will be there to greet you and provide you with instructions about the move-in process.

Don't forget to submit your photo for your Cardinal Card, by emailing cua-picsubmission@cua.edu before you arrive. This allows us to provide your card to you with your room key.
